[SPOILER WARNING - in case anyone here hasn't finished the campaign at least once...]

Well, considering the Prophecies storyline, Lion's Arch is actually a fairly good crossover point - the Prophecies characters have just finished the storyline of resettling the Krytans when they get asked to report to the White Mantle barracks and then get pulled into that story. I can see the same happening with Factions characters visiting Tyria - they get asked to report to the barracks (think of it as the Krytan equivalent of stamping your passport) and while you're there, the White Mantle has a problem it could use a few good men and women for...

Easy transition - the Canthans aren't going to be involved in the battles in Ascalon and the exodus across the Northern Shiverpeaks like a Prophecies character will be, but once they find they've nearly been duped into being accessories to human sacrifice, they may well have the same determination to bring down the Mantle - especially if the Kurzick and/or Luxon refugee camp is still present . There may be some holes, such as the Canthans not knowing who this dead guy that hangs around the Lich is or what's going on with the dwarves, but on the whole there's a fairly seemless transition.

Now, with the storyline of Factions made with transfer of Prophecies characters in mind, I suspect the transition there will be even better - especially since the presence of Prophecies henchmen indicates there'll be at least some means of drawing Tyrian characters into the Factions storyline. Now, it may be that the Factions characters do have a little more background, but I'm confident that the visiting Ascalonians won't feel left out.

Platemail still gives 5 more armour vs all attacks, like elemental, while legionnaires gives extra armour vs only physical.

Read the post.

You people don't seem to understand that I am not talking about legionnaires armour. I'll even dig out a screenshot of it.

Compare and contrast to platemail

It is unquestionably superior to platemail, with no penalty. One is in factions, one is not.
